Tiberium FAQ
By Marauder709 - 14th March 2008 - 15:38 PM

General

What is Tiberium FPS?
Tiberium is an First Person Shooter (FPS) based on EA's Command and Conquer strategy games. It is set in the Tiberium universe and takes place 11 years after the conclusion of the Third Tiberium War.

When is Tiberium going to be released?
Currently Electronic Arts is hinting at a Q4 08 release, or an early Q1 2009 release, however nothing has been confirmed and the dates are still tentative.

Will the game be a standard FPS or will it have a more tactical aspect?
Tiberium has both. Players will be able to control their character as well as a number of squads.

What engine will Tiberium Utilize?
Tiberium will make use if the Unreal Tournament 3 engine.

What are Tiberium's operating specifications?
Tiberium's operating specs are unknown. It would be safe to assume however that the game will require at least 512 MB of RAM, At least 2.0 Ghz of processing power and a 128 MB video card.

Tiberium Singleplayer

Will there be a singleplayer campaign?
Yes. The story is set around Richard Vega, a GDI commander who is investigating the last remaining Scrin tower...

Will there be live action cut scenes like the other Command and Conquer games?
No. All of the cutscenes will be done with CG.

What kind of weapons the character will have?
The main character of the GDI storyline, Vega, will have an all-in-one gun called the GD-10.
It has:
- A Magnetic Rail Gun for anti-infantry work.
- A Grenade Launcher to deploy against high concentration targets
- An Energy Cannon that has a high damage yield against a single target. It can also be used as a sniper rifle.
- A Multi-Launch Rocket System which can be deployed against up to four air and ground targets.
The weapons of other factions are unknown although it may be assumed that they are similar all-in-one guns.

Tiberium Multiplayer

Will there be a multiplayer aspect to the game as well?
Yes, but there are very few details on Tiberium's multiplayer thus far. What we do know is that there will be about 8 players per map, each controlling roughly 3 squads. Winning and losing is dictated by control of Tiberium Spikes which allow you to land more reinforcements.

What kind of squads are there?
So far we know that each faction has different types of squads that fall under the general category's of Armor, Air, Rifle Infantry, and Rocket Infantry.

What factions will be in the game?
The game will focus on GDI but Nod and the Scrin will also be included.

What will squad the controls be like?
The squad leader can order squads to move and attack specific targets. The squads themselves however, are controlled by a context sensitive AI (for instance they will find cover if under fire) and will attack anything within their range.

Are there any special powers the commander can call on?
Yes, the commander will be able to call on support powers such as Artillery barrages and, of course, the Ion Cannon!

Of you have any other questions you want to see answered, PM Marauder709
